Disk Drive Test Chamber

Descripton:
Disk drive test chamber used to test hard drive longevity and failure rate of internal hard drives at elevated temperatures.
Application:
Disk drive manufacturing industry. With some modifications it may also be used to test circuit boards or other components in a controlled temperature environment.
Design Highlights:
Small, portable and interfaces with a computer through a SCSI interface to monitor and control all system variables, failure modes, temperature extremes and failure rate per number of components tested. Used as part of portable single-unit test systems and in large bank ( 256 unit) arrays for production screening and burn-in of all drives in a volume manufacturing line.
Benefit:
Versatility and easy operation. Computer monitoring reduces manual data analysis and improves process control. The small single-unit chamber allowed changing of one drive without disturbing the rest of the drives under test in the array.
