Fiber Winder Developed for use in creating Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers

January 2002: Engineering By Design, of San Jose CA, combined a standard respooling process with a level-winding traverse and tension control system to make winding of fiber amplifiers into a production process. Selectable fiber length or number of turns control improve product manufacturing consistency.
